Sharon Morgan
Mathematics Coordinator
- Sharon taught 7th and 8th grade Math and Algebra I at J. L. Long Middle School in Dallas from 1977-2005. She also coached teams for MathCounts and TMSCA competitions. She was math chair from 1980.
- She began teaching at Sam Houston Middle School in Garland in 1967 and also taught at Northbrook Middle School in Spring Branch in 1976.
- From 1991-1998 she taught Law School Admissions Test Preparation at Southern Methodist University where she also wrote the LSAT curriculum guide.
- Sharon is the editor of the Algebra I Laying the Foundation® guide.
- In 1991, Sharon was a state of Texas awardee of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching Mathematics.
- In 1993, the Texas Academy of Science named her the Outstanding Texas Science Educator.
- As an active math coach, Sharon was a member of Committee on the American Mathematics Competitions 1986-1994 and chairperson of the Edyth May Sliffe Committee 1997-2000, an awards subcommittee of MAA.
- Sharon received a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in mathematics and history from North Texas State University in 1967 and a Master of Liberal Arts, from Southern Methodist University in 1974.
