Marilyn Cobb
Mathematics Specialist III
- Marilyn taught 7th –12th grade mathematics in Texas public schools for 26 years. She taught Pre-AP* Algebra 2 for 18 years, AP* Calculus AB for 15 years and BC for 6 years.
- She retired from Lake Travis High School near Austin in 2004, where she was Mathematics Department Chair and UIL Academics Coordinator (coaching Number Sense and Calculator Applications).
- She received the Teacher of the Year award for Lake Travis High School in 2004 and in 2002 and the Teaching Excellence Award presented by the Lake Travis Education Foundation in 1990.
- She has served as Lead Teacher for Calculus at Advanced Placement Summer Institutes in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas and has presented at numerous one- and two-day College Board conferences in the Southwest Region.
- She was a reader for the AP Calculus Exam for five years.
- Marilyn earned a B.A. degree in Mathematics from The University of Texas at Arlington and a M. Ed. in gifted education from The University of Texas at Austin.
