Lynn Cook
Science Specialist IV
- Lynn joined Laying the Foundation in June 2005 after eleven years as a Biology teacher at Putnam City West in Oklahoma City , OK . While at West, she pioneered the AP* Biology program and laid the foundation for the first biotechnology course.
- She served as Science Department Chair and helped write the district Biology curriculum guide.
- She is trained as a consultant for the Southwest Region of the College Board, and began giving presentations at one and two-day conferences in 1998.
- In 2003, she was named Oklahoma 's state semi-finalist of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science Teaching.
- Lynn received the Outstanding Biology Teacher Award for Oklahoma in 1999 from the National Association of Biology Teachers.
- She was named Putnam City West's 2000 Teacher of the Year.
- She achieved National Board Certification in Adolescent/Young Adult Science in 2001.
- She has served as a lead consultant in Pre-AP ® Biology at AP ® Summer Institutes for UT San Antonio, Rice University , UT Dallas, and UT Arlington.
