Laura Arrazolo
English Specialist I
- Laura Arrazolo is an experienced and enthusiastic Pre-AP® English teacher and presenter. She has taught sixth through twelfth grades in Houston and California, with the majority of her time spent teaching ninth and tenth grade Gifted and Talented Pre-AP students. She enjoys developing creative Pre-AP lessons that reach students at various ability levels. Laura is fluent in conversational Spanish and is excited about the developing Pre-AP materials for ELL students.
- Actively involved with Pre-AP and AP® training since 1999, Laura served as a Southwest Region College Board presenter for five years. She led Summer Institutes at Rice University , the University of Texas at Austin , Texas Tech. University, Corpus Christi Region 5, and the University of Texas at Arlington .
- Before coming to Laying the Foundation, Laura worked for three years with Rice University on a joint project with Project Grad to help provide online mentoring to Pre-AP and AP teachers in underserved schools in Atlanta and Houston . She wrote and developed a Pre-AP and AP teacher handbook and researched, evaluated, and annotated English-related websites for the Rice Digital Library project.
- Laura received her B.A. from Stanford University and her M.A.T. from Rice University.
