According to the Third International Mathematics and Science Study (National Science Foundation in conjunction with National Center for Education Statistics), students who take rigorous mathematics and science courses are more likely to go on to college than those who do not. With LTF Science Training, you will receive the educational tools to increase rigor in your Pre-AP or AP science classroom. In turn, you will be able to:
- Ensure that more of your students are ready for advanced science courses later in high school.
- Give your students the keys to explore college majors and careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.
- Promote gender equity and increase the number of females in upper-level science courses and science-related careers.
LTF Training for Pre-AP and AP science teachers places a heavy emphasis on hands-on learning through laboratory activities and the use of technology in the classroom. These activities also put the math back into science. The graphing, data interpretation/analysis, and mathematical-problem solving encouraged by LTF Trainers provide important links from early grade science classes to math-based expectations in AP-level courses.
Help your middle school and high school science students progress from factual knowledge through conceptual understanding to reasoning and analysis with LTF Science Training, which integrates critical strands from AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and AP Physics classes.
