Operations Assistant
LaKesha first learned about LTF (then under AP Strategies) when she saw an opportunity with the organization advertised, and became interested in working at a place with such a direct impact on teachers and their students. Now, five years later, she still values the opportunity to work toward improving educational opportunities. “I was an AP student in the 1990s,” she says, “and I see how many more learning opportunities students with LTF-trained teachers have today than I did when I was in high school.” Though LaKesha joined LTF as an administrative assistant, she has since taken on many additional responsibilities and now serves as the Office Manager. Her favorite aspect of the position is the chance to work on a wide range of projects – no day is the same as the day before and she is never bored! She also enjoys getting to work with people across the organization rather than being limited to a specific team. LaKesha hopes that LTF will continue to expand into new states and that it will develop even more original ways to help teachers improve instruction.
LaKesha brings eight years of administrative support experience to LTF. A native Dallasite, LaKesha graduated from Mesquite High School and is currently working toward her degree in healthcare administration. She is actively involved at her church and enjoys spending time with her children.
