Director of Training and Logistics
Karen’s passion for instructional excellence dates back to her time as an undergraduate, when she took an internship with an organization dedicated to providing child care workers with the opportunity to receive a formal college education. She explains, “It became very clear to me how a child’s experience was directly related to his or her ‘teacher’s training.’ This experience truly sparked my interest in nonprofit organizations and their ability to make an impact on the community.”
Years later, in her current leadership role at LTF, Karen’s commitment to teacher training is still evident as she works with both district administrators and teachers to ensure a quality training experience. She also loves working internally with other LTF team members; says Karen, “I am fortunate enough to work with LTF’s esteemed corps of content directors and logistics specialists – I have such unique opportunities to learn from and collaborate with them each day.” Among the many contributions she has made to LTF’s growth as an organization is her tireless work to expand the summer institute offerings in an effort to “scale up” the number of teachers LTF trainers may reach each year. Looking ahead, Karen hopes that LTF will continue to increase its impact by further developing technological components of training and resources.
