Assistant Training Coordinator

The Assistant Training Coordinator works with the training coordinator to schedule LTF training, coordinate with trainers, and facilitate training logistics. The position of Assistant Training Coordinator requires extensive knowledge of school structures, the ability to work with diverse personalities, effective communication skills, and attention to detail. The Assistant Training Coordinator reports to the Training Coordinator.

Responsibilities  

  • Assist the LTF Training Coordinator with scheduling training dates and assigning trainers
  • Provide off-site support to trainers
  • Track both operational and financial aspects of scheduled trainings
  • Create and maintain service contracts between LTF and schools districts
  • Review trainer evaluations and create reports
  • Assist with marketing inquiries
  • Input training logistics into the LTF Training Management System (TMS)
  • Work directly with the LTF Operations Team to ensure delivery of materials to execute shipping, receiving, and inventory control
  • Perform on-site quality control as needed

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Possess general PC proficiency and strong skills in Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional, MicrosoftWord, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Perform more than one complex assignment/project while continuing with daily tasks
  • Think analytically, prioritize tasks, and develop processes that monitor progress and performance
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Exude a positive image that reflects well on the organization when communicating with teachers, trainers, and donors
  • Maintain attention to detail, with the ability to recognize and correct errors in documents

      Educational Requirements 

      • Undergraduate Degree (e.g. BA or BS) preferred

        Science Trainer IV - 180 Actual Training Days

        Administrative
        • Submit training reports to content and Program Directors
        • Adhere to all LTF policies and directives

        Training

        • Provide LTF training in Texas and other states
        • Respond to emails from training participants
        • Assist with training trainers as days allow
        • Assist with EOC Reading as days allow
        Development
        • Assist with creation/revision/editing of LTF materials at the behest of the content Director
        • Assist with formatting of materials at the behest of the content DirectoAssist with creating standard training modules
        • Assist with training trainers
        Quality Control
        • Collaborate with LTF Operations Director/Coordinator to streamline processes
        • Research current trends in education and remain current in content

        Science Coordinator

        Administrative
        • Communicate information clearly and promptly to the Director
        • Compile/develop reports as needed and assist with reviewing trainer reports
        • Return emails and phone calls in a timely manner
        • Adhere to all LTF policies and directives
        Development
        • Collaborate with LTF and APS Directors and Coordinators to plan and develop models and materials to support all LTF Programs.
        • Assist with the creation/revision/editing of all LTF materials including guides, web materials, and End of Course tests
        • Assist with securing copyright permission for materials not created by LTF
        • Assist with recruiting independent contractors for writing and revision projects
        • Assist the Director with other tasks as requested
        Training
        • Assist with creating standard training modules
        • Assist with organizing LTF conferences and institutes
        • Assist with selecting potential new trainers
        • Assist with organizing Train the Trainer sessions
        • Assist with training trainers
        • Assist with the EOC Reading
        • Provide LTF training as needed
        Quality Control
        • Assist with managing the national LTF trainer corps
        • Observe and evaluate trainers
        • Collaborate with LTF Operations Director/Coordinator to streamline processes
        • Research current trends in education and remain current in content
